Hate the belt clip, love everything else

I don't understand how people don't use belt clips or arm clips. I always had a leather case, but it started to unravel to the point where it wasn't holding the mp3 player in place so I finally threw it away a couple of days ago and ordered this one. Two days without the mp3 player case and hook and that was so annoying. I never realized how fragile an mp3 player is until I went to the health club and found out: 1) If there's no holder to put the thing in you have to get really creative to balance it; 2) It falls all the time no matter where you put it and without a case, you'll always think you broke it.

The belt clip is handy so I'm not constantly going in and out of my pocket or trying to balance it in something. I know my pockets are clean. I don't know about health club holders (unless sanitized), but then you're digging in the pocket to get it out every time. I like the silicone skin better than the leather holder because the leather holder had a plastic covering that always made the mp3 player look dirty (from the outside). Not sure if I'll be constantly cleaning the "glass" of the case, but the silicone case is sturdy enough that if it fell I think the mp3 player would be OK. Plus, visibly it looks better to see the screen.

I was elated to have a wall charger. At the time I got the mp3 player, I didn't care about a wall charger because I'm always near a laptop or a desktop, but when I went to Hawaii last month and didn't want to bring my computer, I realized I was either going to pay a ridiculous hotel computer rate to charge the mp3 player or bring my laptop for that reason alone. (I brought my laptop.) With a wall charger (and a car charger), I don't have to. It took me two or three years to even want it, but now that I have it, I will definitely make use of it.

My only con is the belt hook. I wish that hook was black like the car charger, wall charger, arm belt and the case. It looks odd to have a white belt hook when everything else matches, but it's no big deal considering how convenient everything else is. However, it's definitely not as comfortable on the waist as my old leather belt hook. I took an hour-long walk after I got this, and my old leather clip would fasten like a belt. You didn't feel it. The hard plastic belt hook that comes with this package pinches your waist. I'd strongly suggest wearing it only on the outside of clothes (literally as a "belt clip") or hooking to a coat. Even wearing it on a belt is annoying because the curl at the bottom gets caught so you're worried about accidentally breaking it. Stick to a belt loop hook instead of the belt.

If you're not wearing a belt, the arm belt comes in handy. Although it looks kinda tacky to use the arm belt if you're dressed up for work or wearing a coat too big to fit it comfortably, it's 10x better than that hard belt clip. The car charger is easier to use, but be careful with it because I ended up with one that had a short. Make sure you store the car charger in an open location.
